Privacy Policy

1. Data we collect

  • Profile data you provide: full name (English + native), date of birth, birth time, birth place, gender, height, diet, smoking, drinking, education, occupation, income, family details, locations, photos.
  • Identity verification documents (Aadhaar/PAN/DL): hashed (SHA-256 + salt) and the original deleted within 24 hours.
  • Cookies and session tokens for keeping you signed in.
  • Audit logs: every consent, every interest, every message, every photo upload — retained 7 years per DPDP §8(7).

2. How we use it

  • To match you with compatible profiles (Ashtakoota, lifestyle, region).
  • To enforce safety: opposite-gender visibility, rate limits, photo moderation, identity verification.
  • For legal compliance, fraud prevention, and security incident response.

3. What we do NOT do

  • Share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
  • Process or store data outside India. Region pinned to asia-south1.
  • Show your profile to anyone of your gender.
  • Allow others to see your contact info before mutual interest.

4. Your rights (DPDP §11–§13)

  • Access: download all your data via /settings → Export.
  • Correct: edit your profile any time.
  • Erase: /settings → Delete account wipes profile, drafts, candidates, photos, identity hashes, and the Firebase Auth user. Audit logs retained per legal requirement.
  • Withdraw consent at any time; matching stops immediately.
  • File a grievance: see /grievance.

5. Breach notification

In the unlikely event of a personal-data breach, we will notify the Data Protection Board AND every affected user within 72 hours, as required by DPDP §8(6).
